Last Spring we blended the Watson Yorkshire program with some of our elite crossbred females and the decision to do so couldn't have generated more excitement at our farm. Great barrows come from great momma's and that's our priority as we've matched some of the industries elite Yorkshire sires up with some of our best Crossbred sows. In fact, we've bred our 2011 Grand Champion Market Hog at the Washington County Fair (Moonshine x Space Monkey) to Final Drive at Moyer's in hopes of making game changing white hogs.   - At last year's Iowa State Fair we found a Duroc boar that was different than any red hog that we'd seen in a long time. His skeleton, and hind leg in particular was as accurate and functional as anything that we've run across in a young sire regardless of breed. Fire in the Hole is sired by Hype and out of the Grand Champion Purebred Breeding Gilt at the 2010 Iowa State Fair.   - Our $5,000 investment in Daniel Hendrickson's Can't Touch This x HP Red Time gilt entry at the STC in Louisville in 2009 has proven to be a good one! "Ruby" has already generated a herd boar, several other jackpot winners and most recently the Grand Champion Purebred Barrow at the 2011 Iowa State Fair Open Show. We are pumped up about Ruby's Fire in the Hole litter coming in mid January!!!
